COMMUNITY SERVICEJoin others who serve our neighbors and reach out to help people in need in ou community with the love of Christ. There are many ways FPC already serves others in the community but if you have any new ideas or projects in mind, please contact Kathy Moore at 801.936-1102 or at kbmoore@aol.com. You can also apply for a Mini-grant of up to $500 to make your own community mission focused project a reality! Community service at FPC currently focuses on 3 major areas. You may be interested in getting involved with feeding the hungry in Salt Lake City. FPC works with Crossroads participating in their Food Co-op and supporting their food pantry. We also make and serve sandwhiches through the Salvation Army. Secondly. FPC seeks to work with the homeless through stocking and distributing basic necessities through Pamela's Closet. Finally, FPC strives to be a church that cares for the young in this region by supporting the Big Brothers & Big Sisters Program and being a part of the Foster Mentor Project (for kids aging out of the state foster system). You can find out more about Crossroads Urban Center, Pamela's Closet, and the Salvation Army through the link Helping the Homeless . |
