The Word Became Flesh In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 1:1-2, & 14
“In the Beginning” reminds of us of Genesis 1 and the story of creation. In John and Genesis we see how God and Christ are intricately tied. Christ represents God on earth. We see how God intended the world to be and why Christ had to become “flesh and ma(ke) his dwelling among us” to help fix a broken world. Although we have seen Christ’s “glory” and we hope for Christ’s return, there is much we can do as we wait. One way is to help others who struggle to even get the basic necessities of life. - Pray on behalf of those struggling to make ends meet. Pray that God will touch these individuals with peace and comfort; that they will grow in character as God walks with them; that God will provide for their needs. THE COST: AN OPEN HEART & PRAYER
- Donate to the Food Bank online at www.utahfoodbank.org or drop off food at your local Smith’s. Double your food donation with Jiffy Lube's “Meal for Meal Match Program.” Bring in your food donation to any Jiffy Lube and you'll receive $45 off next year's oil changes. THE COST: A FEW CANS OF FOOD
- Buy an extra share for the Food Co-op: the food co-op allows people to purchase quality healthy food at a substantial savings through cooperative purchasing. Through purchasing an extra share you can donate food to local agencies that help the poor or support someone you know who could use a helping hand with some extra quality food. Pick up an order form from the church front desk or order online at www.foodco-op.net. THE COST: $$$
