And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28 As we prepare for the celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, it is appropriate that we remember all the blessings we enjoy because of God’s great goodness. In creating this beautiful world, He prepared a place for us to call home.
No matter where we live, God’s power, grace and goodness can be observed and praised. The magnificent sky arching overhead, the majestic mountains, whispering forests, rushing streams and swelling oceans speak of the care and concern He has for his people. Send up a prayer of thanks for the beauty and splendor of God’s creation. In the same way, he has peopled our lives with others who care for our wellbeing and happiness. Take a moment to pray for all of the people in your life who hold you in their heart and in their prayers, especially as the holiday season approaches. If we have “been called according to His purpose,” think how He would have us nurture and love one another as a way to honor the birth of His blessed son. Pray for those you love, pray for those with whom you come in daily contact, pray for those who are far away but who are always in your heart, and pray for those who would come to know the glory and righteousness of God the Creator through the Christ-like love and care that shines through your eyes.
