The season of Lent is a time of reflection & penitence, and the purging of everything that gets in the way of following God into the new resurrection reality of Christ. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, where we undergo a discipline that ultimately helps us become better disciples of Christ. Join us on Wednesday, February 17 at 7:00 PM in the main sanctuary for a traditional 'Ash Wednesday' worship service.
Following Ash Wednesday up until Holy Week (February 24-March 24), there will be a Lenten Series of classes on the Lesser Known Spiritual Disciplines. Much writing has been done on disciplines like prayer, fasting, solitude, and study, which Christians have used to help connect with God for centuries. Join us each week to look at some of lesser known Spiritual Disciplines (like the discipline of biography or sacrificial friendship) that are also important in following Christ. The Lenten series will begin at 6:30 pm each night with a simple meal of bread and soup, followed by the class at 7:00 pm. |
