Christmas Concert First Presbyterian Chancel Choir & Brass EnsembleSunday, December 6 at 4:00 PM The FPC Choir along with Larry Blackburn, organist and a large brass and percussion ensemble made up of Utah’s finest performers team up under the direction of Music Director, Russell McKinney for a stirring concert of music for voices and brass in many combinations.
Featuring Daniel Pinkham’s “Christmas Cantata” and John Rutter’s “Gloria” the concert will include readings from the scriptures and wonderful carol arrangements with fanfares by David Willcocks giving the audience a chance to sing along. Other works by Michael Praetorius, Giovanni Gabrieli, Ralph Vaughan-Williams, Charles Ives, Herbert Howells, John Tavener, and Carson Cooman along with brass arrangements by Mr. McKinney round out this concert featuring the Spirit of Christmas- Brassed!
