Each week, six families/individuals from the church family are listed in the Sunday bulletin. The congregation is asked to include these people in their personal prayer during the week, asking for the Lord’s protection, direction and favor in their lives.
Prayer: Loving God, fill us with your Spirit and guide us, trusting by faith in Jesus for forgiveness of sin. In Christ, Amen.

The gift of prayer is simply God's desire to have conversation and relationship with us. When Jesus taught his followers to pray, he gave them an outline of helpful subjects that God the Father loves to hear about. "The Lord's Prayer" (found in Matthew 6: 9-13 and Luke 11: 2-4) puts it this way:
"Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name." When you pray, simply recognize God as he who created you, loves you, and desires this personal, ongoing relationship. God is the unique, special one, holy, right, good, gracious, "hallowed."
"Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." Pray for God's guidance and will to take hold in your life today. As you read God's word (the Bible), always look for what God is saying to you in terms of his best hopes and desires for your life, relationships, and decisions.
"Give us today our daily bread." As any loving parent, God loves for his children to express their needs to him. Ask for the things you need for the day (patience, wisdom, health, healing, provision, work, etc.).
"Forgive us our debts (trespasses, sins) as we forgive our debtors." Forgiveness is the hallmark of a good life. In Jesus Christ, God offers to forgive all our sin. And he wants us to extend the sam mercy, grace, and goodness to others.
"And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil." Ask for God's protection and help living in a world that is full of difficulties. Talk to the Lord about your struggles, whatever they are.
"For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen." Finish your prayer time giving glory and praise to God for all he is and all he's done.
