The Sundance Trio Sunday, September 20 at 4:00 Oboist Geralyn Giovanetti, bassoonist Christian Smith and pianist Jed Moss present a recital of music for this unique ensemble that they recently recorded at FPC for their upcoming CD. Giovanetti and Smith are on the faculty at BYU’s School of Music and Moss is a sought after pianist in Utah who performs regularly with “Air Supply.” Donations accepted at the door.
Endre Hegedus, Pianist in Recital Monday, October 19 at 7:00 pmThis special performance by the Hungarian pianist Endre Hegedus will feature music by Bach, Beethoven, Schumann, Chopin and Wagner. Mr. Hegedus is a world class pianist having presented recitals and solo appearances all over the globe. Tickets for this incredibly unique event are only $10. Idlewild Saturday, October 24 at 8:00 pm
The capping event of the day’s Ceilidh festivities, the popular local Celtic band Idlewild presents a lively evening of Celtic music with a variety of instruments and dancers. Tickets are just $5 for a single admission (all ages) and available in advance at the church or at the door. Christmas Concert First Presbyterian Chancel Choir & Brass EnsembleSunday, December 6 at 4:00 PM The FPC Choir along with Larry Blackburn, organist and a large brass and percussion ensemble made up of Utah’s finest performers team up under the direction of Music Director, Russell McKinney for a stirring concert of music for voices and brass in many combinations. Featuring Daniel Pinkham’s “Christmas Cantata” and John Rutter’s “Gloria” the concert will include readings from the scriptures and wonderful carol arrangements with fanfares by David Willcocks giving the audience a chance to sing along. Other works by Michael Praetorius, Giovanni Gabrieli, Ralph Vaughan-Williams, Charles Ives, Herbert Howells, John Tavener, and Carson Cooman along with brass arrangements by Mr. McKinney round out this concert featuring the Spirit of Christmas- Brassed! Utah's Ultimate Trombone EnsembleSunday, December 20 at 4 pm This annual concert by one of Utah's most unique ensembles mixing sacred and popular music of Christmas in one amazing concert is always popular. Utah's top professsional and collegiate trombonists combine in a large trombone enseble that will leave you saying, " I didn't know trombones could do that!" General Admission is $10 ($5 for seniors and students). |
